Paola Sordo – Barolo DOCG
Garnet red with orange nuances getting more evident as times goes by; delicate, ethereal, intense, full and lingering bouquet; warm, full, complex, dry and harmonious taste. Ripe tannins and good complexity.
“Aromas of ripe red berries and hints of grainy earth, rose petals and citrus rind. Full-bodied, and densely packed with fine, lightly chewy tannins and very good fruit drive from start to finish. Well done. Delicious to taste now, but needs a few years. Best from 2023.” – James Suckling on vintage 2017 – 93 pts.
VINTAGE 2021

Expressive and overt Barolo with camphor-lifted aromas of redcurrants and watermelon, tar and licorice. Light- to medium-bodied with velvety tannins and again lifted acidity. Chewy palate with floral flavors and good length. Drink or hold.
VINTAGE 2020

This shows a dusty mineral nose with notes of red fruit, walnuts, cedar and a hint of spice box. Juicy and fine-textured on the palate with medium body and bright acidity. The tannins are chalky and tense. Dry and savory finish. Try from 2026.
VINTAGE 2019
James Suckling – 92
Subtle notes of dark cherries, rose hips, cocoa and bark with some earthy undertones. Medium- to full-bodied with firm, chalky tannins and juicy red berries underneath. Fresh and racy in the finish. Try after 2025.
