Bellavista

Bellavista produces Italy’s finest sparkling wines from its 190 hectares of vineyard situated in the western part of the Franciacorta zone in a natural amphitheatre. The glacial soil is full of stones, and provides the ideal environment for the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes used in the production of their Franciacorta.

The property was founded in the 1970s when Vittorio Moretti bought the hill called Bellavista, because of its stunning view. His grandfather had farmed in Franciacorta, where Moretti was born, and after making his money in construction he returned to buy this superb site. His first vintage in 1979 was made with the idea of having his own wine to drink with friends.

BELLAVISTA – Teatro la Scala Brut Franciacorta DOCG

Dedicated to the legendary temple of the Opera, which the company feels close to and inspired by, it is the finest expression of the vintage and of the Bellavista style. The grapes that make up this grand cuvée – Chardonnay and some proportion of pinot nero – are the very best, the fruit of radical selection in each vineyard.

A deep straw yellow color, its bubbles are superfine and persistent, a prologue to the quintessential aromas of the Bellavista style. Generous and elegant floral notes of whitethorn, unpredictable balsamic notes of bay, first, followed by candied citrus fruit and petit-fours. BELLAVISTA – Convento Ss.ma Annunciata Curtefranca Bianco DOC

The SS. Annunciata vineyard is located on Mount Orfano, like the monastery from which it takes its name, built in 1449. The friars who inhabit this mystical, spiritual retreat chose Bellavista to revitalize a one-off vineyard, whose origins date back to the turn of the first millennium. Consisting of 5.45 hectares in total, the slope enjoys a mediterranean climate and is composed of two separate soils, one above and the other below a tree that stands between them.

The color is a bright straw yellow, the tempting and multifaceted aromas offer nuances of ancient roses and geranium, pineapple and apricot. In the mouth, this wine is surprising, deftly combining hints of ripeness with an original mineral and acidic seam. The finish is sapid, fresh and long-lasting.
